Dog Hygiene Policy

Dog Hygiene Document

Please ensure everyone who attends your function is aware of the following.

Ranby Village Hall is Dog Friendly

This means we allow highly responsible hirers to use our Hall for Dog Shows, Dog Seminars, Regular Dog Club Meets, Dog Behaviour Classes etc.; however this policy is regularly reviewed.

We are aware of several venues in the area that do not allow Dog hires, this is ultimately because of the additional wear and tear on their buildings and potential complaints from other users.

Our main Dog Hirer is Retford Canine who have been regular hirers of Ranby Village Hall for over 20 years, we hold them to a high standard, and it is only fair to them, that we hold everyone else to the same high standards.

Therefore, we are adding the following requirement to our terms and conditions for all Dog Hires from 1st January 2025

  • The hirer must have available and provide for inspection if asked

Mats or floor protection (for the areas of the show)

      Cloths

      Disinfectant

      Paper Towel

      Dog Bags

  • The Hall must be swept after each use, and the vestibule front Hall area needs to be as clean or cleaner than the start of the hire

  • Please ensure that all dog waste of any kind is correctly collected, bagged and placed in either the green wheelie bin, or one of the two waste bins outside, one on the grass verge next to the main entrance, the other on the canal bank. All these bins are emptied by correctly protected people.

  • Placing dog faeces in the internal bins for our cleaner to deal with is totally irresponsible and unacceptable.

  • If a dog soils in the hall, please clean it up straight away, Use the mop and bucket provided with your own disinfectant to disinfect the area affected.

  • The Hall floor is very precious to us and our users. Do not oversoak the area as the flooring will lift.

  • The kitchen is a ‘no go area’ for all dogs, please use the front entrance only to enter and leave the Hall.

  • Once your function is finished and you are cleaning up use one of the large brushes from the store cupboard to sweep the hall floor.

  • Please include the entrance lobby in your cleaning up the Green Rubber Bristled Brush is good for this job or use your own cleaner.

  • Dispose of all sweepings in the Green Wheelie Bin.

  • Chairs, Tables and Cushions are provided for human use only, please do not allow dogs to sit or stand on them.

Ranby Village Hall belongs to the Village of Ranby.  Trustees are not reliant on any single hirer and would not hesitate in banning any individual or group that does not look after and care for the facility they are hiring.

Anyone found to be in breach of these rules at any time will have their hire terminated and will not be entitled to any refund.
